Jack Hendon, CPA, has been providing accounting, auditing and business consulting since 1981. Jack is a graduate of Michigan State University and holds an AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing. Jack’s extensive industry experience includes consulting in the areas of trucking, real estate and construction. Jack is a past trustee of the Fremont Area Community Foundation and has served as a Trustee of Gerber Memorial Hospital and the Growth Finance Corporation. He is also a Director and Audit Chairman for the publicly traded company, Fremont Michigan Insuracorp, Inc.
 Daniel Slate, CPA, graduated from Ferris State University with Highest Distinction and has been providing professional accounting services since 1980. Dan also holds an AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing. Dan advises in a number of business areas specializing in the areas of retail and business start-up. Dan’s active community involvement includes board positions on the Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce, Recycling for Newaygo County, Fremont Rotary, as well as special commissions of the City of Fremont and Fremont Public Schools. Dan also serves on the Board of Chemical Bank and previously was on the Board of First Michigan Bank and Old State Bank.
 C. John Korstange, Jr., CPA, CVA, is currently the firm’s managing partner and has been involved in public accounting since 1979. John is a graduate of Hope College. John’s extensive experience includes specialties in the areas of farming, nonprofit entities and business valuations. John has served as Treasurer for the Arts Center for Newaygo County (Dogwood Center), and has also previously served as president of the Fremont Rotary and a Trustee of the Fremont United Methodist Church.
 Ward Van Dam, CPA, is the partner-in-charge of our Muskegon and Montague offices and has been providing public accounting services since 1972. Ward graduated with high honors from Michigan State University with a degree in accounting. Ward is a former president and a current member of the Muskegon chapter of Business Networking International, and also a member of the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce Small Business Development Leadership Institute, CPA2Biz, and a charter member of the Lakeshore Roundtable Program. Ward specializes in the areas of manufacturing, multi-state taxation, and business start ups.
 Jodi DeKuiper, CPA, is the firm’s Audit Partner and has been involved in public accounting since 1991. She holds a Masters of Accounting degree from Ferris State University. A member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, Jodi is involved in the Accounting and Auditing Task Force as a member of the Standards Task Force and was recently the Co-Chairperson of the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Task Force. She holds an AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing. In 1998 Jodi completed the Leadership in Newaygo County (LINC) Comprehensive Leadership Series. An active community member, Jodi is a Board member of the Newaygo County Area Zonta Club.
 Randal Filbrandt, CPA, is the firm’s Wealth Management Partner. Randy is a 1982 honors graduate of Michigan Technological University. His diverse background includes two years as an auditor at Price Waterhouse and five years as Howmet Corporation’s pension plan manager. Randy joined H&S in 1998 and along with heading our Wealth Management division, he is also involved in accounting and tax preparation. He is a member of the MACPA, AICPA, and is active in the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Haven Area Chamber of Commerce.
Edward E. Christner, CPA, formerly of Christner & Farmer, CPA, joined H&S January 1,2006. Edward has a BA in accounting from Michigan State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He has over 17 years of experience as a hospital CFO and in public accounting for over 15 years. He specializes in medical profession consulting.
 Mike Farmer, CPA, formerly of Christner & Farmer, CPA, joined H&S January 1, 2006. Mike holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Grand Valley State University. He has over ten years of experience working in the retail, medical, and construction industries. Mike is involved with accounting, business planning, and tax preparation. He also has extensive experience with popular accounting software systems such as QuickBooks.
Tyse Achterhof, CPA, formerly of Achterhof & Lothschutz, PLC, joined H&S in 2007. Tyse has a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics from Hope College and a MBA in Accounting from Western Michigan University. Tyse has been providing business consulting, accounting, and tax services in a variety of areas since 1969. Tyse is currently a member of the MACPA and AICPA and has been involved in the Grand Rapids community for over thirty years.
Paul Lothschutz, CPA, formerly of Achterhof & Lothschutz, PLC, joined H&S in 2007. Paul has a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Aquinas College and 27 years of experience in the accounting field. He, together with Tyse Achterhof, founded Achterhof & Lothschutz, PLC in 1983. Paul currently works with a large number of manufacturing clients in the Grand Rapids area providing a wide range of professional accounting services.
