Achterhof & Lothschutz, PLC to merge with H&S Companies
The Grand Rapids area CPA firm, Achterhof & Lothschutz, is excited to announce a
merger with the West Michigan CPA firm of H&S Companies.
Each of the firms was founded in 1983 and together the new entity will employ 40 team
members with offices in Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Fremont, Montague and Hart.
“Our practice focus areas of manufacturing, medical, construction, retail/wholesale, nonprofit and agri-business agree precisely with H&S Companies areas of expertise. We felt this to be a natural fit. We are also happy to add H&S’ specialties in real estate, retirement planning, business valuation and IT consulting to our client services,” noted Tyse Achterhof.
H&S Companies recently completed their new LEED certified office building in
Muskegon on Harvey Street. Plans for Grand Rapids include phasing their East Beltline
Office into Achterhof & Lothschutz’s facilities on Lake Michigan Drive. Eventually new
accommodations will be sought to house the needs of the expanding firm.
“We are proud of H&S’s commitment to sustainable growth. The triple bottom line is
becoming a driving force in West Michigan and H&S is showing the way for CPA firms
with their recent LEED Muskegon office. I suspect we will look to follow that example
with any new facilities in Grand Rapids” commented Paul Lothschutz.
H&S Companies consist of the following entities: Hendon & Slate, P.C. CPAs, H&S
Financial and H&S Computer Consulting. The company was established by Jack
Hendon and Daniel Slate in Fremont, Michigan. The current managing partner is C. John
Korstange, Jr. H&S Companies is affiliated with the international CPA Network
CPASNET.
