H&S Companies is proud to announce the addition of Ross & Ross Certified Public Accountants, of Mount Pleasant, to the H&S team.

Ross & Ross is a family run practice founded in 1980 by Art Ross, back then it was known as Arthur M. Ross CPA, PC. His sons, Andy and Brian, joined the family business in 2008 and 2000 respectively. The name was updated to Ross & Ross in 2009 to reflect the addition of the sons to the business.

“Our firm is pleased to merge with H&S Companies. This move will allow for the best possible service in all financial areas for our clients,” said Art Ross, CPA.

This is H&S Companies’ third merger in the Mount Pleasant area. Their three teams will be combined in the Court Street Professional Building, making their Mount Pleasant office the third largest of their eight locations.

Beginners

Never opened QuickBooks before? No problem. We’ll teach you what you need to know to get started. From setting up a company to processing payments to sharing files with your accountant, you’ll be up and running in no time.

Intermediate

Have you been using QuickBooks for a while but need to sharpen your skills? This class is for you. We’ll walk you through everything from customizing forms to creating reports and graphs to share with your team.

Things to Know

Each class will be from 8 am to noon on the assigned date. Registration begins at 7:30 am.
If you have QuickBooks 2012, please arrive no later than 7:30 am so you have time to install the sample material.

Don’t Give Hackers the Chance to Hold Your Sensitive Data for Ransom

Don't leave your data "unlocked" and open to hackers.

Bloomberg.com reported that hackers recently attacked a small medical practice in Illinois. According to the article, they breached the security system, stole and encrypted medical records, and then demanded ransom in exchange for the password to retrieve the records.

It’s important to remember that just because your computers are locked away safely in your office, doesn’t mean the data is. Simple things to remember include using a variety of unique passwords, having proper anti-virus software installed, and ensuring your network firewalls are in place. Don’t have an IT department?
