Job Description:
The Assurance Senior will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day “in-charge” duties of planning, fieldwork and “wrap-up” to include the preparing of financial statements with disclosures, applying most areas of GAAP as necessary and documenting, validating, testing and assessing various control systems. This position is also responsible for acting as the client contact for basic questions and information and may be involved in reviews and agreed-upon procedure engagements. This job has no required overnight travel and all clients are located within Michigan.
Essential Functions:
- Preparing and leading more complex audit areas
- Reviewing audit areas performed by staff
- Overseeing internal staffing on engagements
- Preparing financial statements
- Building relationships internally to foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration
- Completes research and special projects as needed.
- Communicates effectively with clients and H&S team members on a regular basis.
- Making a difference in the communities where you live and work
Preferred education and experience:
- At least three (3) years of experience preferred in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity, scope and number of engagements managed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Outstanding client service and communication skills
- Experience with nonprofits and governments a plus
- Enthusiasm for helping others be successful
- Out-of-the box thinking and an entrepreneurial spirit
- A new perspective and new ideas allowing us to continuously improve
- CPA license preferred, but not required
- Experience with ProSystem Fx Engagement a plus
